IES / LDT resource center
Use file type, distribution, test basis and luminaire configuration together. A photometric file is a model input—not a substitute for project calculations or field verification.

Review the file header and accompanying documentation for the tested configuration. Record software version, room geometry, reflectance, calculation grid and light-loss factor so another reviewer can reproduce the model.
IES and LDT describe light distribution; they do not prove 0-10V, DALI-2, occupancy or emergency-control compatibility. Verify those interfaces separately.
Installed illuminance can shift with aiming, dirt, voltage, furnishings and surface finishes. Mockups or field measurements remain appropriate for critical spaces.
Efficacy versus visual comfort: maximizing lm/W can reduce connected load, while glare control, higher color quality and tighter distribution may require a different optical or power choice. Neither objective is universally correct.
Integrated versus serviceable components: integration can reduce size and improve thermal coordination; replaceable drivers or light engines can simplify later maintenance. The project should state which lifecycle priority governs selection.
